The fashion designer will appear at Saturday’s Red Ribbon Gala after the “Will & Grace” star suffered an injury.

This year’s Red Ribbon: Reshaping the Face of HIV gala in Sarasota has lost its previously announced special guest, but another celebrity will take her place.

Fashion designer Michael Kors will now appear at the gala Saturday at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota that serves as a fundraiser for CAN Community Health, a Sarasota-based nonprofit dedicated to treatment and care for those living with HIV, hepatitis C and other diseases.

“Will & Grace” star Debra Messing was initially announced as this year’s special guest, but is now unable to travel due to ripping a tendon in her hip after a fall, according to a video posted on social media.

Kors ranks among the best-known designers in the world, just days ago unveiling his fall 2020 collection at New York Fashion Week. He is also a philanthropist who has received the Golden Heart Lifetime Achievement Award from God’s Love We Deliver, which provides meals to people with HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses.

Tickets to the gala cost $450, with other sponsorship opportunities available. For more information, visit cancommunityhealth.org/red-ribbon-gala.
