Child finds baby boy in rubbish bin in Bloemfontein

A baby boy believed to be five days old was found in a rubbish bin in the Bloemfontein CBD on Tuesday night.

ER24 paramedics were called to the Thabure police station after a young boy had found the baby in the rubbish bin. The boy then rushed the baby to the nearby police station.

On arrival, medics found that the baby had escaped injury and seemed to be in a healthy condition.

The child was transported to a nearby hospital for further assessment.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
